A Long Family History of Dragon Pride

Carroll is the kind of place where families come to give their children an excellent education and never leave. It promotes generation after generation of educational excellence and that’s certainly the case in my family.

We have a long line of Stacy and Tate aunts, uncles, and cousins that have not only walked the halls of CISD as students but have served this community in great capacity. We bleed GREEN! Now, Mitch and I are raising four 5th generation Dragons and my passion for CISD has only grown.

This passion is what keeps me dedicated to serving on 5 of CISD's strategic planning committees. These district advisory committees are crucial to policy making in CISD. In addition, I do love to offer support to teachers and staff in each of my kid’s schools in volunteer capacities including PTO. Through this service, I’ve gained valuable insight into the operations and management of our district. With this, as well as my background as a small business owner and sales representative, there is no one better to guide the next generation of Dragons to success as a member of the CISD Board of Trustees.

I am committed to the preservation of CISD’s integrity and continued success. I am dedicated to being responsible with our district’s finances and will diligently and creatively seek ways to generate new revenue so that we can offer more CTE and trade courses. I am committed to working tirelessly to improve outcomes for ALL of our Dragons. I believe listening is more important than speaking. I embrace engagement between parents and teachers and will continue to advocate for this important relationship, as I believe the educational success of our Dragons is a partnership hinged on the cooperation of all of us. I genuinely love and respect the CISD community and would be honored to serve as CISD’s next trustee.

Christy's Story

Business Background

Christy has an entrepreneurial and business background, as well as dedicating much of her time to service to the community and to volunteering with CISD. In college, Christy and her husband started their first small retail business. A former dancer, Christy also worked as a dance instructor and studio manager, choreographing for local dance studios and high school drill teams including the Emerald Belles and the CSHS Ensemble Show Choir.

She continued her professional career as a sales representative for the largest debt settlement company in Texas where she helped clients map out a 3yr, 5 yr, and 7 yr strategy to eliminate their personal debt. She was the top 1% in the company and was quickly promoted to a managerial role overseeing a team of representatives who became the best in their field.

When Christy had her first son, her priorities shifted, and she started a job with a direct sales company, where again, she performed in the top 1% of all sales representatives in the company every year over a decade. During this time, Christy took opportunities to not only train other sales reps but speak at retreats, area events, and regional and national conventions. She and Mitch also opened up another business, this time in manufacturing, to continue the family tradition. (Christy’s father was a manufacturer and welder and she wanted to pass on the trade to her own children).

Serving DRAGONS with Purpose

Christy knew it was time to step up and really fight for CISD Dragons after shutdowns and political agendas began to affect the achievement and success of her own children. She saw the sacrifice and dedication the teachers, coaches and faculty gave to get every Dragon caught up and couldn’t let them carry the weight of it alone.

Investing in Our Community

Christy and her family are just as involved in the community around CISD as they are inside of it. Christy and Mitch are faithful Christ followers and have been active members at Gateway church since 2004. They've served in roles from leading bible studies to security and oversight of teams and events.

Sports are also very much a part of the Stacy family. Mitch and Christy are active supporters of the Carroll Athletic Booster Club. Mitch is the Vice President of the Dragon Youth Baseball and enjoys coaching all of their Dragon’s baseball teams. Christy and her oldest son Cade serve with SASO, Student Athletes Serving Others and Southlake’s Miracle League. Cade can be found arriving early Saturday
mornings to set up the sound system and bringing joy to kid’s faces as “Stitch” the Miracle League mascot. Their 5th grader Carson, never without a ball in his hands, is involved in Dragon Youth Football and Baseball as well as Under the Lights Flag Football. Their 2nd grader Callum loves baseball, soccer and wrestling, depending on the day and their youngest and only girl Canna takes after her mom with a love for dance and musical theater.

Christy can always be found in a Carroll hat, with her cowbell, cheering on her Dragons!
